Flensburger Gold

I recently reviewed the Flensburger Weizen and I was so impressed with that beer I decided to try some of the other beers from that same brewery. So my next beer for review is the Flensburger Gold.
I noticed right away that this beer was also somewhat cloudy like the Weizen was. There is little to no head when poured, and has a golden brown color. The smell is very fragrant and hoppy with an almost sweet quality. At first I noticed the heavy hop flavor coupled with a nutty taste. There isn’t a hint of bitterness in this beer and the taste is very consistent throughout. My only complaint, and this is a big one, is that it’s flat. Maybe it’s due to the odd cap to this beer, or from the long transport from Germany, maybe it’s supposed to be that way. I don’t know.
The one thing I do know is that the flatness totally ruins this beer. I believe with a little sparkle this would be a fantastic beer. It’s entirely possible I just got a bad one. Hopefully someone out there can set me straight on this because it’s quite disappointing. This beer unfortunately does not live up to the Weizen I had before. This beer gets it’s rating only because I have to rate the beer I have. I can’t give it a rating on the possibility of a bad beer.
Rating: 3
I recently bought and tried the Gold, it has a little bit of carbonation, but not much, but the taste is wonderful
